Food, family, future...
Peacock Farm Muston is an arable farm with a rich history of producing crops for the food industry. A few years ago, we expanded what we do – now offering our own homemade products including fruit vinegars, rapeseed oils, honey, eggs and more. We’re proud to also champion and sell produce from other local suppliers.
We’re also passionate about education and protecting the environment for future generations. We host talks with schools, young farmers groups, beekeeping groups, and open our gates to the public as part of the Open Farm Sunday initiative.
The farm and the family
When Donya left her job to start our family, she saw an opportunity for the great home-grown delights we could produce. So, we started pressing our rapeseed for oil, which proved great for cooking, as are the infused flavour varieties which we have created. She also brought bees to the farm.
We have always been keen to work with what we have and support our thriving ecosystem. Beekeeping seemed a perfect solution and after learning from a seasoned bee keeper we bought in our own hives. We now have hives split between the home farm and the Langar wildflower farm, also in the Vale. Keeping bees is a fantastic hobby and we’ve learned so much — particularly just how important bees are to the environment.
The product range has expanded so much too. We have used a family recipe from Donya’s side of the family to create delicious fruit vinegars. These have been popular and are a great addition to all types of meals and even drinks.

Our favourite thing is that the farm is a family affair. We all get involved including our three young children. They help feed the chickens, press the seeds and wear their own bee suits to help me care for the bees. We hope they will be part of the next generation of conscientious farmers, if they want to be!
